Lomax Polston of Westville, Florida passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Dothan, Alabama one day after his 81st birthday. He was a hardworking and determined man who owned and operated his family farm in Northwest Holmes County, all while working at Ft. Rucker as a helicopter mechanic, and later as an insurance crop adjuster. He retired after 30 years as a school bus driver for the Ponce de Leon Schools. Lomax was a dedicated member of Reedy Assembly of God Church and served as a deacon as long as his health permitted.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren A. and Margaret Parker Polston; son, Randy Polston; and brother, Leroy Polston.

Lomax is survived by his wife of 48 ½ years, Patricia "Pat" Jones Polston; three sons, Glenn Polston of St. Petersburg, Florida, Kenny Polston and wife Ann of Atlanta, Georgia and Dale Polston and wife Debbie of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; two daughters, Vickie Miller of Rome, Georgia and Melissa Stinson and her husband Steve of Monticello, Florida; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation was held Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Highway 83N, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Reedy Assembly of God Church beginning at 3 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Bradley and Brother Tim Harris officiating. Committal services followed in the Reedy Church Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.davis-watkins.com.
